a poem from the pits
Phoenix
once more it’s time again,
to rise again,
from the ashes of another life,
but I’m so tired of,
picking up,
the pieces left by pain and strife,
why can’t I hold onto,
what I have,
for a lifetime,
why must the pages burn,
why must I return,
the phoenix of my own life
the world turns round,
my life burns down,
again and again,
the walls they break,
how much more can I take,
as my world comes crashing down.
once more the ashes rise,
up to the sky,
and block the rising sun,
once more I am reborn,
but still I’m torn,
and the pain has just begun,
running out of super glue,
I can’t undo,
the cracks that plague my mind.
The world turns round,
my life burns down,
again and again,
the walls they break,
how much more can I take,
as my world comes crashing down.
